Did you know that today’s children spend on average 32 hours a week watching screens including TV, video games, computers, and hand-held devices? Yes, it’s shocking and linked to poor school performance, childhood obesity, and attention problems. This is why we, at the Doll House & Toy Store, are so thrilled to be participating in the Screen-Free Week from April 30rd through May 6th.
This annual celebration is an opportunity for all of us to evaluate our relationship with screen media and find alternative ways to play, learn, and have fun! Around the world, Screen-Free Week will be celebrated by children, families, schools, and communities by turning off screens and turning on life. It’s an ideal time to read, get outside, and enjoy time with family and friends.
Parents, teachers, PTA members, and community leaders are planning activities to promote the week. And, at the Doll House, we want to help get you excited about Screen-Free Week by offering a $5.00 gift certificate for participating in this special celebration. Please stop by or email Sari at azdollhouse1@cox.net, and she’ll mail you the forms for participating.
We have loads of wonderful toys, games, puzzles, and more to help you enjoy your time away from the screen. We hope you’ll stop in to receive our gift certificate and more importantly, we hope you’ll celebrate a week without screens, too!
